On Monday's show, Carlito appeared in a backstage segment, and he said, "I gotta learn Chinese" after IYO SKY and Kairi Sane walked out of the frame. SKY and Sane are Japanese, so the line sparked plenty of backlash.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that, internally, the claim from at least one staff member was that the line was not scripted. This source said that they were in disbelief that it was said. Additionally, a number of people in the company were not happy that it happened. There is no word of any action or heat on anyone involved, per Sapp. The line has since been edited out of all digital clips.
