Families 1st Partnership to sponsor Project Connect 2024 on Aug. 8

Project Connect will be from 11 a.m. to 4 pm. on Aug. 8 at the First United Methodist Church, 1600 West E St.

Families 1st Partnership this year's event Tuesday in a press release. Project Connect "is a one-stop resources fair for families or individuals to learn about local social service organizations," the organization said in a press release.

2024 will be the seventh year that Project Connect has been sponsored and promoted by Families 1st Partnership.

With the participation of more than 30 local organizations plus support of local businesses, this event has grown in the services offered for those who attend.

Free haircuts will be provided by Hall of Fame Fades.

NE TotalCare has reserved their dental van to be available for scheduled teeth cleaning and dental screening appointments with Our Redeemer Lutheran Women's League handing out dental kits.

Nebraskaland Bank has donated NP Children's Museum yearly passes.

CYS (youth sports league at D&N Events Center) will offer youth sports scholarships.

Equitable Bank has donated funds to provide lunch for those attending and Banister's Leadership Academy will be serving.

Culligan and Coca-Cola have donated water and other drinks.

Las Mananitas Community Advocates will provide Spanish interpretation support for the event.

Families 1st Partnership has operated as a nonprofit organization since January 2019 and serves as the backbone organization for collaborative efforts in west central and southwest Nebraska.

The focus of the collaborative partners is to prevent children and at risk youth from going into higher systems of care.

"With this goal in mind, Families 1st Partnership encourages other local agencies in their work and offers support in the form of trainings or financial assistance to the agency's participants," the agency said. "In addition to financial support to stabilize families, there is sponsorship of parenting classes and family activities."

Families 1st Partnership receives grant funding from Nebraska Children and Families Foundation.
