WASHINGTON -- Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Sen. JD Vance of Ohio will meet Tuesday night on the vice presidential debate stage in a proxy fight for the White House, a matchup that carries an extra level of intrigue as the potential final debate before Election Day.
Hosted by CBS News in New York City, the showdown comes as Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are in a deadlocked race for the presidency. Typically a vice presidential debate isn't seen as a major moment, but this one stands to be different: It is currently the last scheduled opportunity for Americans to hear from both parties at the same time.
