Dollar Tree Inc. operated more than 16,300 stores across 48 states and five Canadian provinces as of August 3, 2024.
Dollar Tree Inc. has made three executive appointments -- including one to oversee the potential spin-off or sale of its Family Dollar division.
The changes, which come on the heels of the departure of CEO Rick Dreiling for health reaons, include appointing Jason Nordin as president of Family Dollar Stores, where he will play a key role in the banner's formal review of strategic alternatives, the company said. Earlier this year, Dollar Tree said it was reviewing strategic alternatives for Family Dollar, including a potential sale or spin-off of the business.
Nordin joined the company in October 2023 as chief of stores for Dollar Tree. Prior to that, he served as COO of Pilot Company.
"In his time overseeing the Dollar Tree banner, Jason has shown a deep commitment to both people and performance, which has not only strengthened our store operations, but has also fostered a culture rooted in our core values," said Mike Creedon, interim CEO, Dollar Tree. " Jason's operational expertise, business agility, and financial acumen will be instrumental in guiding the next chapter for Family Dollar."
