Investigators tell BocaNewsNow.com that Tydaries Brooks is now being held in the Palm Beach County Jail. Here is the official statement from BBPD:

"After a nearly three-year investigation, the Boynton Beach Police Department has made an arrest in the fatal stabbing of Robert McLean, a 51-year-old man found on NE 13th Avenue in the early hours of October 22, 2021. At approximately 12:23 a.m. on the night of the incident, we received a 911 call about an individual lying in the roadway in the 100 block of NE 13th Avenue. Responding officers discovered McLean with apparent stab wounds to his chest. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by Boynton Beach Police and Fire Rescue, McLean was pronounced deceased at 12:35 a.m.

The scene was quickly secured for investigation. Early evidence, including witness statements and surveillance footage, indicated McLean had been involved in an altercation just moments before his death. Throughout the investigation, detectives pursued all leads, continuing to gather evidence and re-interview witnesses, some of whom were initially hesitant to speak. This persistence ultimately led to a breakthrough in the case.

On September 10, 2024, Detectives secured an arrest warrant for 26-year-old Tydaries Brooks on charges of second-degree murder. Brooks was located in Riviera Beach early Wednesday afternoon by the United States Marshals Service. Brooks is currently being held at the Palm Beach County Jail. The Boynton Beach Police Department thanks the community for their cooperation and assistance in bringing this case to a resolution."
