ASRock X870 Pro RS Motherboard Listed on Amazon For $199: Specs & Features Detailed

ASRock's X870 PRO RS motherboard is up on Amazon before the official launch & features a 17-phase VRM with lots of features for $199 US.

We are almost near the official launch of the X870 and X870E motherboards and surprisingly, one of the X870 boards is already live on Amazon, revealing the motherboard design and specifications along with its price. This is ASRock's budget offering, which we recently reported about, and is one of the seven X870/X870E motherboards the company has planned to launch in the first batch.

ASRock X870 Pro RS can be currently seen on Amazon, listed for a price of US$199.99. This one is the non-WiFi edition, which doesn't bring any built-in WiFi adapter for wireless internet connectivity. The motherboard boasts a 14+2+1 power phase design and a white-themed PCB with gray accents. It offers decent-sized heatsinks on the VRM and the M.2 slots, and RGB lighting is also integrated for aesthetics.

We can also see that the memory configuration has been revealed, which suggests that the motherboard can support up to 256 GB of total DDR5 RAM size and up to 8000 MHz of clock speed. Recently, we also got the leaked specs of the ASRock Z790 Taichi, which showed that the motherboard can support up to 9200 MHz of memory speed. However, the Zen 4 and Zen 5 CPUs can't support very high memory clocks, which is why the AM5 motherboards are generally equipped with lower RAM frequency support compared to Intel motherboards.

Nonetheless, the X870 Pro RS does support a higher memory clock than the X670E Pro RS, which had a max memory support of up to 7600 MHz. One noticeable improvement the X870 brings to the table over the X670 is the presence of USB4 ports, which support up to 40 Gbps of transfer speeds. The ASRock X870 Pro RS comes with dual USB4 ports and several USB 3.2 and 2.0 ports.

There is also a 2.5G LAN for wired internet connectivity but the motherboard also provides an M.2 WiFi slot for adding an adapter. Plus, there is a BIOS Flash button at the I/O to upgrade the BIOS easily. There are plenty of headers for RGB, ARGB, fans, and cooling devices onboard, and Debug LEDs on top-right for easy troubleshooting.

The price of the X870 Pro RS seems by the last generation but as there is no X670 Pro RS in the X670 lineup, we can only compare the X870 Pro RS pricing to the X670E Pro RS, which at the moment costs $209.99. We may see some more X870 and X870E motherboards listed on Amazon and other retail stores in the coming days just as we saw MSI's X870 and X870E motherboards listed on an Australian retailer recently.
