Police sought the public's assistance Thursday in identifying a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run in South Los Angeles.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a woman was struck by a vehicle shortly after midnight Nov. 5 while she was walking in a marked crosswalk near 87th Place and Central Avenue. The motorist who struck her continued traveling south on Central Avenue.
The woman, who name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The city of Los Angeles has a standing reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to a conviction in a fatal hit-and-run.
"Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves," police said in a statement. "Motorcyclists are also reminded to obey the rules of the road and ride at a safe speed."
