Browns DE Alex Wright (triceps) out for season

Cleveland Browns defensive end Alex Wright announced Thursday over social media that he is in need of season-ending surgery to repair a triceps injury. Wright said he initially sustained the torn right triceps during a joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings in the summer and felt additional pain during Cleveland's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 15. He had an MRI after that game but continued to play before undergoing another MRI this week. "Somehow it became Freak accident because i didn't even use my right arm on the play. So after finding out about it I still battled through the pain and all," Wright said on Instagram. "Fast forward I got my last MRI checkup and it has progressed to worse from a partial tear. So now surgery is taking place which leads me to missing the rest of the season... anybody who knows me know I love football to death but 91 is going to be alright for sure." Wright, 24, recorded eight tackles in four games off the bench as well a sack that resulted in a safety. He has totaled 61 tackles, six sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 37 career games (six starts) since being selected by the Browns in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. --Field Level Media
