(FOX40.COM) -- A man attacked another with a knife and attempted to run over them following an argument Tuesday morning, the Fairfield Police Department said.
According to police, an officer stopped a vehicle as it accelerated toward a pedestrian crossing at West Texas Street around 7:55 a.m.
Police said the driver and pedestrian had been in an argument "during which the driver pulled out a large knife and held it to the pedestrian's back, causing a small cut."
According to police, the driver then got into his vehicle and attempted to run him over.
The driver was booked into jail and is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
No details were provided about the victim's condition.
