Hammonton man dies nearly 2 weeks after Franklin Township crash

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP -- A Hammonton man whose vehicle crashed into several trees in Gloucester County nearly two weeks ago died from his injuries Monday, police said.

Timothy Weatherby, 74, was driving a 1998 Jeep SUV north in the 1100 block of Tuckahoe Road at 10:11 a.m. Oct. 9 when the vehicle crossed over the centerline before striking multiple shrubs and trees, police said Tuesday in a news release.

Weatherby was freed from the vehicle and flown to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he died from his injuries, police said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
