Delhi Founder Triggers The Internet With Job Posting That Made Fun Of South India: 'Tasteless Advertisement'

Vikram Chopra, the founder and CEO of the pre-owned car startup Cars24, tried to sully Silicon Valley with his latest job posting on X/Twitter. It was only a few days ago that his company drew the collective ire of the internet for a dubious dowry campaign that was revamped last minute to look like Anupam Mittal-led Shaadi Dot Com's Dowry Calculator campaign.

Seems like CEOs are into rage baiting and would not budge unless some regulations are passed to curb the corporate sledging. Taking a swipe at the language row in Bengaluru over natives insisting the techies pick up Kannada, Chopra's ad beckoned "lickass engineers who wish to stay home."

The ad is more specific for the northies who "still can't speak Kannada after years in Bengaluru." The post further reads, "It's ok, Aa Jao Dilli." While no startup or MNC has imposed a language imposition in Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, or any other IT hub in the south, the constant bickering of a few divisive directors stains the entire of the north.

Reactions poured in with netizens calling out the tactless, tasteless post, calling out the CEO of Cars24. Users also reminded Mr. Chopra of his earlier tweet from 2009, where he ranted that "the most difficult thing in Delhi is to deal with people." "Come back and smell the fumes," jibed one, while another user lamented, "dum ghut ke mar jo jana hai."

Kindly grow beyond idli-dosa jibes and make a sustained effort in uniting a nation whose secular fabric is destroyed by jingoistic, opportunist CEOs.
