Laura Byrne has done a sneaky on her husband Matty 'J' Johnston and uploaded a photo of his awkward teenage years on his Instagram page - much to the delight of his fans. The topic of his looks came up in Wednesday night's episode of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! as the campmates were discussing bullying and growing up.

The former Bachelor was jokingly getting ribbed on his good looks and physique, with Max Balegde poking fun at the former Bachie star. Matty J teased back, "Excuse me, you don't know what I've been through!"

"It's the biggest wanker thing to say, but I've always had a six-pack," Matty J said. "I did gymnastics as a kid," before Max quipped, "I have a six-pack, I just protect it under a layer of fat."

"But I was a very unattractive child," Matty then said. "Puberty was rough for me, I was covered in pimples, I had the biggest ears you've ever seen," before going on to confirm he's had his ears pinned back. "Do you know what happened?" he continued. "I went to the doctor, and he looked at me and said, 'Oh you're here for the nose job!'"

To prove Matty's point, Laura has now taken it upon herself to upload a teen photo of Matty J, with many fans absolutely loving the throwback photo.

"He is going to kill me. The glow-up of all glow-ups goes to this man right here. Ladies back off, he's mine," Laura captioned the pic.

Fans loved the glimpse into Matt's teen life, with people praising his glow-up.

"Bless, this is why he has such a beautiful personality, he had no other choice," one person said. "That's a serious glow-up! I love it," another commented.

"That's some serious Neville Longbottoming!!" one person quipped, with someone else saying, "I totally thought he was exaggerating! But what a glow-up."

Matty J reveals surprising cosmetic transformation after childhood bullying

Matty J has previously opened up about having his ears pinned back after being bullied in school, undergoing the procedure just after high school.

"I think it might have been grade four or grade five, and there was this girl who tapped me on the shoulder at assembly. She goes, 'You've got really big ears," the former Bachie said, saying that the comment upset him so much that he went to the bathroom and cried.

The taunt stuck with him, and he got an Otoplasty (cosmetic ear surgery) done not long after high school.

Reflecting back on it, Matty said if it was now he could laugh at it.

"It was something as a kid that just kind of stuck with me," he said. "I guess it was just always something that I wanted to kind of rectify.

"I think now I could laugh about it," he said. "As a 20-year-old I was nowhere near as robust as I am now."

Matty J previously spoke about the procedure back in 2019 when he was hosting radio show Weekend Breakfast with Matt, Sarah, and Matty J.

"I have to confess I've been surgically enhanced. I'm not going to lie to you," he said at the time. "As a kid, I was given the name Dumbo. That's what drove me to get my ears fixed."
