The driver of a tractor-trailer crashed into a utility pole in South Berwick early Friday morning, knocking it down and leaving a mess of tangled wires. According to police, the truck has been removed, but access to Route 91 at the intersection of Route 236 is blocked. Officials advise drivers to take a detour on Witchtrot Road. Central Maine Power is heading to the scene to assess the damage and clean up the downed power lines. Officials estimate they will be there for most of the day. Currently, the traffic lights at the intersection are not working. It's unclear what caused the driver to hit the utility pole and if they were injured.
