#EndBadGovernance: Amnesty Int'l Condemns Disappearance Of Medical File Of Muhammed Liman In Maiduguri Hospital

Amnesty International in a statement issued on Monday said that the sudden disappearance of Liman's medical file had stalled his treatment since the first week of November.

Global human rights body, the Amnesty International, has raised the alarm over the disappearance of the medical file of one of the August 1-10 #EndBadGovernance protesters, Muhammed Liman, from the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Borno State.

Amnesty International in a statement issued on Monday said that the sudden disappearance of Liman's medical file had stalled his treatment since the first week of November when the organisation released its report on the brutal killing of 24 protesters by operatives of the Nigerian police.

The global human rights organisation said, "Amnesty International is deeply concerned that the medical file of Muhammed Liman disappeared from University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and his treatment stalled since the release of our report on brutal killing of 24 protesters by the police."

According to Amnesty International, "On the first day of #EndBadGovernance protests, Muhammed Liman and his friends were working at A.A. Kime filling station, Bolori Junction in Maiduguri when a convoy of security personnel out to violently suppress the protests threw hand grenade at them -- killing 3 of his friends.

"Muhammed Liman who suffered life threatening spinal cord injury has not received any treatment in three weeks as his medical file is nowhere to be found.

"His condition is deteriorating and his family has been left in limbo -- and helpless."

SaharaReporters had in November reported that Amnesty International in its report on the #EndBadGovernance protests reported that police operatives 24 protesters across the country during the protests.

Amnesty International said among the victims were three fuel attendants -- Nasiru Mustapha (26), Amodu Garba Maina (24), and Momodi Hassan, killed by police operatives in a convoy on August 1, who threw a hand grenade into the Kime Filling Station where the three fuel attendants worked.
