WAYNE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) - Two medical helicopters responded to a head-on crash in Butler County early Thursday, according to county dispatchers.

It happened on West Elkton Road in Wayne Township around 6:30 a.m., dispatchers tell FOX19 NOW.

A motorist driving behind one of the vehicles involved saw the crash and called the county's 911 center to report it.

The Butler County Sheriff's Office is on scene along with multiple fire crews.

At least one medical helicopter, CareFlight, flew one critically hurt person to a hospital, according to dispatch.

A second CareFlight helicopter responded around 7:30 a.m. and lifted off shortly after 8 a.m.
