Years of hard work are paying off for the Taft Senators.

For years, Taft has been no stranger to winning, but behind the scenes, from the coaching staff to the teachers around the school and, most importantly, the players, the Senators are a team many are pulling for in the area.

Inside the heart of downtown Cincinnati, Taft head football coach Tyler Williams and the Senators are not leaving anyone out.

Last month, the seniors surprised teachers all over the school with their jerseys as a thank you for their work.

With another playoff win on Friday, the Senators will have 11 for the season for only the second time in the past 18 years.

Star sophomore quarterback Monsanna Torbert and senior linebacker Aaron Dowdell are not overlooking their next opponent, Indian Hill.

"Indian Hill is a great team. They had a great upset win over number one seed Clinton-Massie," Torbert said.

Williams' secret to success? Encouraging his players to play like they're in fourth grade with a program that is built on having fun.

"Just to be able to pour all of that into these kids right now, watch all the success that they have had, it's a beautiful thing," Williams said.

Taft and Indian Hill will face off Friday night at 7 p.m. at Milford High School.
