FabFilter has just launched the all-new Pro-Q 4, further elevating its flagship product with a bunch of new features. The plugin is priced the same as its predecessor at $179. The upgrade price from Pro-Q 3 is $84. Looking for all the new features in the FabFilter Pro-Q 4? Here's a list below.
During mix sessions, shuffling between multiple EQs is a common process to achieve the desired mix. Now you can get all your Pro-Q 4 instances on multiple channels within one interface, making the EQing process much more convenient and faster. You can also copy and paste EQ curves from one instance to another.
Treatment of problematic frequencies was already quite convenient in the Pro-Q 3 thanks to a great GUI; it has further been improved in the Pro-Q 4. In Spectral Dynamics mode, Pro-Q 4 doesn't change the gain of the whole band, but triggers per specific frequency within that band when it exceeds the threshold, leaving other frequencies untouched.
Pro-Q 4 now lets you draw your EQ curves. Previously seen in some plugins such as the Newfangled Audio Equivocate and MFreeformAnalogEq, FabFilter has added this feature in the latest version of the plugin.
