Syracuse, N.Y. -- Three-star wide receiver Gabe Daniels, who lists Syracuse among the three finalists in his college recruitment, plans to make his verbal commitment on Saturday.
Daniels is ranked as the No. 808 recruit in the country in the Class of 2025 and the No. 130 wide receiver prospect in the 247 Sports composite rankings. He previously listed his top three schools as Syracuse, Kansas and North Carolina State.
Syracuse currently has two wide receivers committed in its Class of 2025.
Daniels visited Syracuse and Kansas this month. He cancelled a visit to NC State, likely ruling them out.
The website 247 Sports indicates that Daniels also received offers from Wake Forest, Kansas State, Georgia Tech during his college recruitment.
Among the four major recruiting websites, Daniels is listed as high as the No. 47 receiver prospect in the country by ESPN.com.
He lists himself as 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds and claims times of 10.5 seconds in the 100 meters and 21.2 seconds in the 200 meters.
Daniels plays for Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross, Georgia. According to the website MaxPreps.com, he caught 31 passes for 531 yards and five touchdowns last season. His team finished 9-2.
Daniels' commitment will continue a busy 72 hours for the Syracuse football program to close the month of June.
Syracuse has received a pair of verbal commitments over the last 24 hours, first from New York quarterback Rich Belin and then from Canadian defensive end Nathan Nyandoro.
Syracuse was also listed as a finalist in the pursuit of four-star quarterback Malik Washington, who opted to pick Maryland, his in-state school.
Syracuse currently has 27 players committed in its Class of 2025, the second-most in the country. That group is currently ranked No. 21 in the country by 247 Sports and fourth in the ACC behind only Clemson, Miami and Georgia Tech.
