The audio clip reveals a dispatcher explaining that the young woman was stuck inside the oven, which was still powered on at the time of the call. "Female is locked in an oven in the bakery, unsure if the staff are unable to turn it off," the dispatcher said. After first responders arrived at the scene, one was heard asking, "Do we we have the power off for that, does the staff want to turn the power off?..In case we make do make contact." The Daily Mail reported that the person was out of the oven upon their arrival.
Authorities have not revealed the identity of the 19-year-old victim and are still investigating the exact cause of death. Halifax Regional Police responded to the call around 9:30 p.m. and confirmed the victim's passing in a statement. "It is important to note that the investigation has not yet reached a point where the cause and manner of death have been confirmed," the statement reads.
