McPhee and Hilty portrayed two Broadway actresses who often competed for parts across Smash's two seasons. The series also featured Debra Messing, Jack Davenport, Christian Borle, Anjelica Huston, Brian D'Arcy James, Leslie Odom, Jr. and Jeremy Jordan.

"Still dreaming of another season of Smash," one Instagram user wrote in a comment on McPhee's post. "This is my Roman Empire," another wrote, referencing the popular internet meme. Broadway actor McKenzie Kurtz shared a similar sentiment, writing, "This is my Mt. Rushmore."
Hilty and Simard's new musical opened Nov. 21. The production is based on the 1992 Robert Zemeckis movie that starred Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn.

"People throw around the term 'dream come true' a lot. I've been known to do that myself, and not that I didn't mean it before, but I really, really mean it with this job," Hilty told PEOPLE of Death Becomes Her as it opened in November.
"Because it really has been so satisfying. The script is genius. The songs are incredible. The costumes are stunning. There's just a magic to it where you can feel how uniquely special it is."
