Motorcyclist killed Saturday in rural Cedar County crash

The collision occurred when the driver of a car did not stop at an intersection

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday when they collided with a car in rural Cedar County.

The driver of a Nissan Altima was traveling east on 325th Street, north of Wilton, just after 11 a.m. when they failed to obey a traffic control device and entered Taylor Avenue, according to an Iowa State Patrol report.

The driver of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was traveling north on Taylor Avenue collided with the passenger side of the Nissan, killing the motorcyclist and injuring the car's driver.

The Iowa State Patrol has not released the names of the people involved. The crash remains under investigation.
