A popular popsicle brand has recalled about 137,000 cases of popsicles because of an undeclared allergen: milk.

A milk allergy can go far beyond just lactose intolerance (which can be quite uncomfortable).

Some people with severe milk allergies experience, "hives, an upset stomach, vomiting, bloody stools, and even anaphylactic shock -- a life-threatening allergic response.

Jolly Rancher Frozen Confection Pop single-serve products, commonly sold through ice cream trucks, concessions, or from grab-and-go cases like in gas stations, are potentially subject to the recall. If you bought one, you can see the applicable lot codes here.

The Jolly Rancher pops sold in groups in places like grocery stores are not subject to the recall:

This recall does not apply to the 18-count Popsicle Jolly Rancher multi-pack products that are sold in grocery stores and retailers nationwide.

The products were sold wholesale to retailers between February 1, 2024, and August 15, 2024.

There have been two reported allergic reactions to the product thus far and, "a result of findings which indicate there may be a presence of milk allergens in the product which is not disclosed on the packaging."
