Michigan Defender Compared To Multiple-Time Pro Bowler In Latest ESPN Mock Draft

Michigan football was the big winner in ESPN analyst Matt Miller's latest mock draft, with three Wolverines listed among the top 15 overall prospects and a surprise prospect listed as a contender for the top overall pick in 2025.

Wolverines cornerback Will Johnson was listed as the number three overall prospect, and he was also compared to a multiple-time Pro Bowler who plays in the AFC West Division currently.

According to Miller, Johnson's tape from his first two seasons in Ann Arbor "is some of the best cornerback tape" Miller has ever seen.

"The 6-foot-3 playmaker's closest comparison as a college prospect is Pat Surtain II," Miller said, adding that he would be lined up next to Surtain II in Denver if he goes number three overall to the Broncos as currently projected.

"Johnson has seven career interceptions, he is an active tackle, and he has the size and speed to erase receivers."

Surtain II is a 2022 First-Team NFL All-Pro and a two-time Pro Bowler.

Michigan defender Mason Graham was also listed in Miller's rankings as the number seven selection to the Minnesota Vikings. Miller said that Graham could become the top prospect in the entire draft when it's all said and done.

At number 14 was Colston Loveland, the projected selection of Coach Shane Steichen's Indianapolis Colts.

Loveland had 45 catches for nearly 650 yards and four touchdowns last season while proving his mettle as a blocking tight end for the most clutch and high level rushing attack in the country.
