Badgers reveal their depth chart for Week 6 vs. Purdue

Coming off their bye week, the Wisconsin Badgers face another challenge in Week 5, as they'll travel to play the USC Trojans, with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Here's the Week 6 depth chart for the Badgers. Let's see what stands out.

Looking at the depth chart, there aren't too many changes once again ahead of Week 6.

At wide receiver, Tyrell Henry cracked the two-deep here over Chris Brooks Jr., joining Quincy Burroughs as the backups on the depth chart at the position.

Henry played six offensive snaps in Week 5 against USC, while Burroughs didn't see action in the game.

Additionally, Tucker Ashcraft remains at the top tight end spot over Riley Nowakowski, which was reflected in the snap counts from the game, as the former saw 23 reps, while the latter played 19 snaps.

Looking at some takeaways, it was a pretty even split at the No. 2 outside receiver spot between Vinny Anthony (31 snaps) and C.J. Williams (29 snaps), while Trech Kekahuna saw 17 snaps with the Badgers involving a number of four-receiver sets.

At running back, Tawee Walker was the clear No. 2 back, earning 29 snaps, whereas Chez Mellusi got just 15 in the game. Walker went for 55 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries. Of the backups, Jackson Acker had nine, Cade Yacamelli had five, Darrion Dupree had four snaps.

On defense, Hunter Wohler and Preston Zachman played a whopping 86 snaps, seeing the field for the entire game. Fellow safety Austin Brown wasn't much further, as he was the team's primary nickel on Saturday, playing 80 snaps in place of an injured Max Lofy, who got hurt during pregame warmups.

The amount of defensive plays in the game gave R.J. Delancy and Xavier Lucas some opportunities, playing 25 and 22 snaps, respectively, with the latter mainly coming in on third downs.

Elijah Hills ascended to the top defensive lineman, playing 50 snaps, while Brandon Lane saw meaningful playing time with 27 snaps for the first time this season. In a bit of a surprise, true freshman Dillan Johnson had zero reps in Week 5.

It was almost an even split at outside linebacker, with John Pius (46 snaps), Darryl Peterson (45 snaps), Leon Lowery (41 snaps), and Aaron Witt (40 snaps) all earning ample playing time.

But, at inside linebacker, it remained a heavy dose of Jake Chaney and Jaheim Thomas, with Tackett Curtis (19 snaps) and Christian Alliegro (21 snaps) ranking among the bottom when it came to defensive player snaps.

Stay tuned for the latest coverage ahead of Wisconsin's Week 6 game!
