Brianna Chickenfry Gets Candid About Red Flags in Zach Bryan Relationship

Brianna "Chickenfry" LaPaglia has been open about her relationship with ex Zach Bryan, and the podcast host has now admitted that she turned a blind eye to some of the country singer's red flags.

"I think the red flags and, like, what people should look out for is like such an intense bond so quickly," Brianna, 25, said during an appearance on Alix Earle's "Hot Mess" podcast on Thursday, December 12. "Like when you get into it you think it's cool and it's fun and you're like, 'This is my soulmate.' But if someone is telling you they're your f-king soulmate on day two of hanging out, run for the f-king hills."

The title of the episode was "Leaving An Abusive Relationship ft. Brianna Chickenfry," and Brianna went into detail about her time with Zach, 28, including her feeling like she "knew people weren't going to believe her" claims.

"I documented, for myself, videos to try to get myself to leave," the content creator explained. "I have, like, a trail for probably the past, like, six months of just telling myself how I feel in this moment, what he did to me, like, 'This is why I need to leave.'"

Brianna added that it was "so hard" when she would "wake up to an apology the next day."

She continued, "When you're in such a toxic abusive relationship, you don't even understand what's going on. You don't even know who you are."

Brianna said that she documented her breakup on a daily basis to capture how she was feeling. After recently rewatching the videos, the internet personality recalled "slowly realizing what kind of relationship [she] was in."

"In the beginning, he was so amazed by how strong a woman I was. I was so opinionated -- it was like his favorite thing about me. Like every room I walked into, I'm the same person in every room," Brianna told Alix, 23. "Then slowly it just started deteriorating. It would start with, like, little nitpicks about, 'Well I think you're better than this job.' Or, 'You shouldn't really say that online, I don't really like the way you dress.' Just, like, little things where it makes you question like, 'Oh are they right? Because they have my back with everything else, maybe they're looking out for me.'"

Brianna and the "I Remember Everything" singer began dating in July 2023 after meeting at the Academy of Country Music Awards earlier that year. However, the former couple confirmed their split in October.

"Addressing something: Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart," Zach wrote via Instagram Stories on October 22. "She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I'll always thank her. I have had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways. I am not perfect and never will be."

He also asked for fans to "respect Brianna's privacy" before concluding, "With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I failed people that love me and mostly myself."

Brianna later revealed she was "blindsided" by Zach's announcement because they had only broken up the day before.

"I've been crying for like, five days straight," she said in a YouTube video she posted to her channel the same day as Zach's statement. "How can you give every ounce of yourself to someone and then be discarded of in a few days? It's really, really heartbreaking and I don't want to talk about details right now. I don't want to talk about it yet."
