'Quicker Pace' Key To Jets' Win

The New York Jets brushed aside the New England Patriots 24-3 at MetLife Stadium and head coach Robert Saleh has credited a fast start as a big reason why.

With the Patriots coming off a tough overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2, there was a clear fatigue factor that the Jets wanted to exploit...and they did.

On the Jets' first three drives, Aaron Rodgers and the offense had a 10-play, a nine-play and 15-play drives which led to a fast 14-0 start and the Patriots were playing catch up the rest of the way.

"We kind of jumped the ball early," head coach Robert Saleh said. "[The Patriots] went into overtime and ran 72 plays last week, so we were trying to go a little bit quicker pace the first couple of drives, especially that first drive. I feel like we were able to accomplish that. Just trying to lean on them as much as we could."

Of course, it also helps that Rodgers looked back to his best and was able to orchestrate those long drives and with the run game picking up steam, it was a perfect storm for the Patriots.

Breece Hall and Braelon Allen picked up yards at will as they totaled 109 combined rushing yards on 27 carries and a touchdown. Rodgers also threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns in what was his best performance in recent memory.

So the Jets knew the Patriots would be physically drained after their Seattle loss, so they took full advantage to race out of the blocks and never looked back.
