Commute: Disappointment

Commute: Disappointment

I know how you feel because I feel it too. A month ago we were on top of the world. Missouri Basketball was all consuming.

Whatever magic that existed the night Mizzou beat Alabama slowly bled out from the program over the last four weeks, culminating with last nights loss.

I won't spend much time on this here because I've got approximately 87 different things to do now that the season is over. If anything I might be most annoyed by the fact the season is over because of how I know have to switch into offseason mode when I was still enjoying being in season mode.

I'll have an RIP post coming soon. At the bottom of the post, you'll find a full watch list of todays NCAA games.

With the game over I'm not gonna spend a whole lotta time and/or energy on previews. But here's Quentin's preview of the game. The Live Thread is here. The Post-Game story here.

How do you balance the fan in you wanting to see them advance versus the pragmatist who is trying to win a bracket contest? It's a fine line to walk so I usually cheat and play one bracket with Mizzou going to the Final Four and the other I have them bowing out earlier.

As a member of #TeamNoBracket (I did fill one out for the RMN pool -- however i honestly barely remember any of my picks), I think there are way too many people who take their picks seriously. The tournament is a random-results generator, once you accept that it's okay to just pick whatever makes you happy and then just enjoy the chaos of the first two rounds.

A one-stop resource for everything one could want to know about Mizzou with the Big Dance set to play the music. Whether you've watched every minute since Nov. 4 or haven't watched a single second, this guide will serve as a compass to navigate March Madness from Mizzou's perspective. It's loaded with statistics, fun facts, player information and lots of other good stuff to help you become the smartest person in the room. Or, if you want to be humble and keep all of this info to yourself, that's a-ok as well.

If you're the type of CBB fan who checks in for March Madness, it's a good resource. If you're that type of fan, chances are you aren't reading this post though.

At the conclusion of the opening session, Mizzou finds itself tied for 22nd with four team points alongside seven other programs. Cam Steed and Keegan O'Toole both advanced to the second round, remaining in the championship bracket.

You can also catch up on all the action from Session Two here.

Despite being picked to finish 15th in the SEC Preseason Poll (only one spot above Mizzou) and no players listed on preseason all-league teams, head coach Mike Bianco has done a great job so far this year with Ole Miss. The Rebels come in with a 15-5 overall record with some notable non-conference wins over Arizona (neutral), Clemson (neutral), and Southern Miss (home). Ole Miss dropped two out of three in their SEC series opener at home to Arkansas after winning their first game. The Rebels are coming off a 6-2 midweek loss on Tuesday night to No. 19 Southern Miss.

Here's to hoping for some better results than the last series.
