CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland Guardians will have at least two players in this year's MLB All-Star game. Third baseman Jose Ramirez and outfielder Steven Kwan were announced as American League fan vote selections on Wednesday evening as part of a group of starters for the upcoming Midsummer Classic. Their All-Star gear became available online shortly after the announcement.

The 94th annual MLB All-Star Game will take place at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, on July 16.

Ramirez, now a six-time All-Star and three-time starter, entered Wednesday with a .879 OPS. He is second in the league in RBI (76) and fourth in home runs (23). He became the second player in MLB history to have 23 home runs, 75 RBI and 15 stolen bases through 78 games. He also leads MLB with 14 two-strike home runs.

Ramirez beat out Baltimore Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg 60% to 40% for the starting role.

Kwan, a first-time All-Star, entered Wednesday with a .362 batting average and a .961 OPS. He has belted seven home runs, 84 hits and 24 RBI in 57 games. The all-around playmaker has won consecutive Gold Glove Awards and strikes out just 7.8% of the time. Kwan was sidelined for nearly a month with a hamstring injury.

Kwan beat out Baltimore's Anthony Santander 28% to 26% for the third and final starting outfield spot.

The rest of the roster will be announced on the All-Star selection show on ESPN at 5:30 p.m. on July 7.

The Guardians (53-30) entered Wednesday with a six-game lead over the Minnesota Twins in the American League Central. They have the best record in the American League and the second-best record in Major League Baseball, behind only the Philadelphia Phillies.
