Pink Week 2024 Shines Light on Empowerment Through Education | Your Health | Noozhawk

The Breast Cancer Resource Center of Santa Barbara (BCRC) will present Pink Week, Oct. 1-4, a series of free educational webinars focused on topics vital to empowering and supporting individuals in treatment for breast cancer and survivorship health.

Pink Week, which will help raise funds to continue providing essential free services, will coincide with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, an annual campaign to bring awareness of the disease.

Sessions will air at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m., and will be replayed daily at 6 p.m. with Thursday's webinars available in Spanish. Registration is free and open to all.

On Tuesday, Oct. 1, Dr. Priti Gagneja, of Gagneja Health, and honorary chair of Pink Week 2024, will serve as keynote speaker, addressing the topic Breast Cancer in Primary Care.

Additional topics include Fertility Preservation and Family Planning for Women with BRCA 1/ BRAC 2 Mutations; Heart Health: A Guide for Breast Cancer Survivors; Palliative Care; Demystifying Clinical Trials; and Deep Resilience; as well as sessions in Spanish, "Estudios Clinicos; ¿Es para mí y por qué son importantes?; and Cómo tomar las mejores opciones alimentarias durante el tratamiento del cáncer.

The webinars are offered at no charge, registration is now open to join online at www.bcrcsb.org/pinkweek.

"Empowerment through education plays a crucial role in our mission, which is why we honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Pink Week, an engaging series of webinars in collaboration with our cancer care community," said Silvana Kelly, BCRC executive director.

"Pink Week presenters and collaborators are local health and cancer care professionals who generously donate their time and expertise," she said. "Their support allows the BCRC to present these important and informative webinars and raise essential funds for BCRC programs and services."
