BOERUM HILL -- THE NEW YORK TRANSIT MUSEUM IS CELEBRATING 120 YEARS OF THE SUBWAY with a special exhibit titled "The Subway Is...", which opened on Sept. 26. The exhibit explores the subway's history since Oct. 27, 1904 -- the subway's approximate birthday -- featuring artifacts such as model trains, vintage uniforms, and decorative tilework.

Additionally, the museum is hosting four Nostalgia Rides on 1917 Lo-V subway cars throughout October and November, allowing participants to experience the subway's early days. The museum's entrance is at the corner of Schermerhorn St. and Boerum Place. It is now open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
