Anya is a sweet, elegant German Shepherd mix with fluffy, expressive ears and big brown eyes. At ten years old, she is one of our senior dogs, but on walks she has the energy and enthusiasm of a puppy and loves to explore. She is good on the leash.

Because she came to the shelter as part of a hoarding case, she's very used to other dogs. She loves treats and would enjoy kongs or other toys with snacks hidden in them. She was shy when she first arrived at the shelter but has opened up so much since then.

Given how food-motivated she is, teaching her some commands and tasks would be a great way to engage her bright mind and gentle spirit and help her gain some more confidence. Whoever said an old dog can't learn new tricks has clearly never met Anya!

Anya has been at the shelter since October and deserves to go to a warm, loving home in the new year.

TO ADOPT

In order to adopt, you must fill out an application, pay an adoption fee, and your current pets must be up to date on their rabies vaccines. All adopted cats and dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and have had all vaccinations before they go to a new home.
