MASSILLON - A section of the main road running through downtown is slated to reopen early next week after being close multiple weeks for the demolition of two city-owned buildings.
A multiblock stretch of Lincoln Way -- between First Street NW and First Street NE -- is expected to reopen no later than Tuesday, according to the Massillon Engineering Department.
The closure was due to the demolition of two vacant buildings Tuesday at 10 Lincoln Way E and 28 Erie St. N.
Erie Street N, from Lincoln Way to Federal Avenue NE, is to remain closed for at least two more weeks, so building debris can be transported out of the demolition site, said city Development Director Ted Herncane.
"Probably two weeks from now, we'll be good to go," he said.
