MECOSTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) -- Authorities say two people were killed after crashing into an overpass on US-131 in Mecosta County.
The Mecosta County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on US-131 at the Old State Road overpass in Mecosta Township.
Investigators said a car was heading northbound on US-131 when the driver went off the roadway and struck the overpass.
The sheriff's office said the driver, a 54-year-old man, and a passenger, a 47-year-old woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both were from Big Rapids.
Their names were not released. The crash remains under investigation.
