Our Marvel Rivals guide for Black Widow will run down her abilities, offer tips and tricks, and help you dominate the battlefield.

Black Widow Abilities

Black Widow has a difficulty level of four out of five stars in Marvel Rivals, making her in no way accessible for beginners. Her difficulty solely comes from requiring precise aim and dealing with a slower than ideal fire rate.

While she doesn't have the same damage output as Hawkeye, she's still able to perform well in her role as a sniper.

Let's start by going over her abilities.

Black Widow Offensive Strategies

\Black Widow is an effective sniper that can provide excellent impression fire and, if the enemy refuses to hide, take out healers or pesky ranged Duelists. Still, since her damage profile isn't as good as other heroes, you need to be effective with your offense.

I cannot stress how important it is to have Hawkeye on your team. 20% damage is 20%. That's a non-trivial amount. Don't bother trying to always go for headshots. Make sure you hit your target since your recoil and fire rate are a detriment. Fleet Foot is an excellent utility ability that lets you quickly move around the map and reach a proper vantage point. You'll need as much help as possible to be effective, so it's handy to have in your back pocket. Sometimes, it's best to no-scope and hip-fire at the enemy and keep shooting. Again, doing some damage is better than doing no damage.

Black Widow Defensive Strategies

Since you don't deal as much damage as other Duelists, you'll have to be resourceful when dealing with pesky enemies, especially if they're focusing on you.

Your baton does more damage than you realize. Switch up to melee attacks when you're being countered. Stick with your healers, especially if they can provide damage buffs. You'll need all the help you can get to stay alive and effective in skirmishes. Edge Dancer is an excellent way to combo enemies that get too close for comfort. Fleet Foot is an excellent way to not just move around the map, but power jump out of harm's way. I can't tell you how many times I was able to escape danger by retreating.

Description

Supersensory Vision

Black Widow

Hawkeye can share his Hunter's Sight with Black Widow, enabling her to catch sight of and damage afterimages of enemies.

Black Widow's Marvel Rivals Team-Up Ability is simple: you get 20% extra damage from Hawkeye.

Having two snipers on your team is not always beneficial, but it can be useful for certain maps and scenarios. Unfortunately, it's not too exciting, especially since people will be upset you're playing Black Widow.

Black Widow Counters & How to Deal with Them

I'm going to be honest here: Black Widow's biggest counter is that she's a weaker version of Hawkeye. Beyond that, she will have the same counters as Hawkeye since they fulfill the same role as a ranged sniper.

Divers like Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Iron Fist will fare well against you should you be caught alone and out of position.

You can use your mobility to get away, but it's better to play it safe than sorry. Squirrel Girl is surprisingly effective, too, since she can throw grenades from places you can't always see.

Star-Lord can be an excellent counter, too, given his speed and sustained damage. Hela can use her high damage to pick you off from a distance or just rain hell with her ultimate. Hawkeye is, again, a better sniper and, as a result, can pick you off in one shot.

Thanks to his shield and portal, Doctor Strange is the perfect Vanguard to counter Black Widow.

Best Team Comps With Black Widow

To reach your full potential, you'll want a Hawkeye on your team to activate your Team-Up damage bonus.

Luna Storm, Mantis, and Cloak & Dagger are excellent options as healers, but then again, they're excellent healers no matter what.

Since you're taking care of enemies from a distance, you'll want someone who can get up close and personal. The Punisher, Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Iron Fist, and even Hela are all excellent options.

There are plenty of Vanguard options that do well to distract the enemy team: Venom, Hulk, Magneto, and Doctor Strange can disrupt the enemy while dishing out damage, allowing you to clean up, especially since you're not doing top-tier damage.
