Police Saturday are investigating a fatal hit and run crash that left a woman dead in North Hollywood, just east of Van Nuys.
Los Angeles Police Department officers from the department's North Hollywood Division were called to the 11700 block of Victory Boulevard and Colfax Avenue at 9:40 p.m. Friday regarding a pedestrian versus vehicle collision. When they arrived, officers learned a vehicle traveling west on Victory struck the victim and drove away from the scene, an LAPD officer told City News Service.
A second vehicle traveling in the same direction struck the victim again and also fled without stopping to render aid.
The victim -- who police said was between 20-25 years old -- was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
There were no vehicle descriptions and the LAPD's West Traffic Bureau will be in charge of investigating the collision.
