Davenport Assumption's Navon Shabazz has committed to the University of Iowa.

The 6-3, 170-pound guard held several Division I offers, including, among others, Iowa State.

Shabazz averaged 14.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game last season for the Knights on their way to winning the state Class 3A championship in Des Moines.

The Hawkeyes currently have two Quad Cities players on the roster in former Moline standouts Owen Freeman and Brock Harding, who are projected starters for the upcoming season. Freeman, the reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Year, and Harding are sophomores.
