EXCLUSIVE: Miranda Lambert Reveals Her Mount Rushmore of Country Music

Miranda Lambert just released a thrashing new album, Postcards From Texas, that is straight fire. It's Lambert just as you know her to be, fierce and fiery, with that southern twang that we all love.

The Grammy Award winner is coming up on 20 years since her first single, "Me and Charlie Talking," and most likely pops up on other people's Mount Rushmore of country music.

We sat down with the "Wranglers" singer on Taste of Country Nights On Demand, and host Evan Paul put her on the spot and asked her the age-old question.

Before we could even finish the question of who is on her Mount Rushmore of country music, Lambert intervened with, "Oh god! That's too hard. It really is too hard."

Letting the question breathe and giving her a moment to think, Lambert was ready to fire off the four names that belong on the top of the proverbial mountain.

"I mean, I'll rattle some off. Emmylou (Harris), George Strait, Merle Haggard and Willie (Nelson)."

Naturally, anytime anyone mentions Willie, the question is, "Have you gotten to hang with the country music legend?"

The "Mama's Broken Heart" singer said, "No, I never did get to, like, smoke weed with Willie. I want to. I mean, I would. But I did get to do his 90th birthday party, and it was awesome."

Lambert then tried to recall if that party happened in 2023 or 2024, joking that she has lost some years after the pandemic.

Lambert named some pretty iconic heavy hitters for her Mount Rushmore of country music, although when the topic of who belongs on that mountain comes up, it's always open for debate.
