Former Celtics champion shares parting message before going to prison

Former Boston Celtics big man Glen "Big Baby" Davis seemed in good spirits ahead of his court-mandated prison sentence.

Davis was among several former NBA players who were convicted last November for defrauding the NBA's health care system. Davis was sentenced to a 40-month prison sentence in May.

Despite his attorneys' attempts to appeal the federal court's decision, Davis will serve his sentence at Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Duluth in Duluth, Minn.

On Tuesday, the former Celtics forward posted an Instagram story that appeared to be a farewell message to his supporters.

"Love y'all. Love y'all. I'll be good," said Davis in the clip.

In May, Davis went viral on social media for live-streaming his bizarre reaction upon learning of his prison sentence.

The 2008 NBA champion said in July that he does not plan to sit idly while in prison. Davis revealed that he has one major goal while serving his time.

The Seattle SuperSonics selected Davis in the second round of the 2007 NBA draft. The LSU alum was traded to the Celtics as part of the draft-day deal that sent Ray Allen to Boston.

In his eight-year NBA career, Davis played for three NBA teams: the Celtics, Orlando Magic, and Los Angeles Clippers. He had career averages of 8.0 points and 4.4 rebounds.
