WOODFORD, Vt. -- The Mount Greylock boys won on Saturday at Prospect Mountain thanks to a 1-2 finish from Andrew Holland and Ben Mandel, with Nathan Gill coming in fifth to give the Mounties three of the top five times.
Wahconah was close on their heels, Chris Hyatt earned third place and Wahconah's top four finished before Greylock's. But Oliver Bingemann's 11th place finish combined with first, second and fifth gave the Mounties 19 points, comfortably ahead of the Warriors' 33.
Holland's time of 17 minutes, 44 seconds was tops of the day by six seconds, with Mandel skiing in 17:50. Hyatt was close behind Mandel in 17:54.
Jackson Carhart led Lenox with 16th place in 20:33.
On the girls side, Greylock took third place behind Mohawk Trail in first and Amherst in second. Mohawk had 24 points, Amherst 28 and Greylock 39.
Lenox's Jane Elliot was the best Berkshire skier on the girls side with a fourth place finish and time of 22:30. Josephine Bay took sixth for the Mounties, followed by Maya Wilson in eighth not long after. Lily Cook led the Wahconah girls with a 24th place finish.
