Investigators have so far determined that the 42-year-old woman lost control of her 2016 Hyundai Veloster when driving along N. Watson Road and went off the roadway, according to the news release. She reportedly called family members for help. The man then arrived at the location before parking his 2004 GMC Yukon in the right lane with his hazard lights on, police say.

As the two individuals were out of their vehicles, the BMW approached the area at high speed and struck both of them as well as the Yukon, according to the news release.

Arlington police say charges are pending the investigation's outcome, and they have not ruled out alcohol as a possible factor.
