PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) - The Pacific Northwest is an apple-lover's paradise, with rows and rows of orchards covering Washington and Oregon that are ripe for the picking.

But some apple picking areas stand out among the rest, according to a recent list from Yelp that ranked orchards by their ratings and reviews.

Established in 2007, The Gorge White House in Hood River features a "historic home on a century old working farm," according to their business Yelp bio. The orchard is situated on 30+ acres of land and offers U-pick fruit and flowers along with a food cart and hard cider and craft wine bar.

Nestled in Brooks, Ore. is the Beilke Family Farm featuring apples, pumpkins, and tomatoes. Visitors can pick up a bucket to fill with fruit straight from the orchard every day of the week.

A fourth generation family farm in operation since the 1940s, the Douglas Farm said, "We strive to provide fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables with a hearty dose of good ol' farm friendly charm." The farm has been in operation since 1942.

This family-friendly orchard in the heart of the Gorge specializes in growing organic cherries, heirloom tomatoes and honeycrisp apples. Picnic tables offer views of Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams.

"Hood River U-Pick started as a means to pay for the maintenance of our cherry trees," Owner Lori M. shared in the business's bio. "I figured, if my grandpa could have a U-Pick business, so could I, and it worked! I love it. And I love my customers. Everyone is so happy and grateful for what we do."

Featuring several apple varieties, Kiyokawa Family Orchards is a classic stop for those exploring the Hood River Fruit Loop that also features stone fruit throughout the summer season. It was ranked the best place to pick apples in Oregon, according to Yelp.
