Why Natalie Portman Reportedly Isn't Losing Sleep Over Ex Benjamin Millepied's New Romance
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are continuing to work out the financial details of their divorce, but there appears to be one remaining part of their marriage that the 55-year-old actress is hanging onto. The Unstoppable star is reportedly still living in their Beverly Hills estate that is on the market looking for a buyer with very deep pockets, per In Touch Weekly.
Lopez and Affleck bought the property in May 2023 for $60.8 million, thinking that it would be their dream home for their blended family. It's an A-list residence with a 38,000-square-foot house, five acres, a 12-car garage, and an "indoor sports complex," per The New York Post. It was reportedly Affleck's distaste for paparazzi that led them to scoop up the ultra-private estate. "He doesn't want [the entourage] and all the drama that comes with that in his home," a source told the media outlet.
Well, we all know what happened this spring with their marriage, Affleck moved out of the luxurious home and never looked back. Lopez spent the summer in the Hamptons on the East Coast. The property was put up for sale while the Oscar winner found a $20 million Pacific Palisades bachelor pad for himself and had the audacity to close escrow on her birthday.
When Lopez returned from her summer break, she started shopping for another new place to call home. Per TMZ, she set her eyes on the former estate of the late fashion designer Max Azria in September. She was hoping to drive down the price from $55 million to "somewhere in the range of $30 million to $39 million." The home just so happens to be located next to her ex-boyfriend's estate, Sean "Diddy" Combs. His place is also up for sale in the wake of his sex-trafficking charges.
It looks like Lopez didn't pull the trigger on the Holmby Hills estate because she's still living in her Affleck marital home that they are hoping to sell soon. The very expensive asset is a major detail that is holding up their divorce which won't be closed until a sale goes through. The end of Bennifer 2.0 is a complicated, and very expensive, mess.
