Best NBA player prop picks for Celtics vs. Sixers tonight

Best NBA player prop picks for Celtics vs. Sixers tonight

After a short intermission and All-Star Break, the NBA regular season is back underway. Tonight, the Boston Celtics travel to take on the Philadelphia 76ers in a divisional showdown.

Each team is looking to finish the season strong, so they'll depend on their star players to step up and hopefully kickstart some momentum in this final stretch of the year.

Before the game tips off, let's look at some of the best player props you can wager on at some of the top sportsbooks in the industry.

Note: Lines are based on the best value our experts find as of publication; check lines closer to game time to ensure you get the best odds.

For as frustrating a season it's been to keep up with Joel Embiid, he has still shown the ability to perform at a high level when on the court. In his last five games played, the big man has averaged over six assists and over ten rebounds.

Early in the year, Embiid was turning in inconsistent performances on the boards, but he seems to have found his rhythm again as of late and is securing more rebounds on a routine basis.

Tonight against the Celtics, all signs point to Embiid being a full-go. Boston is a decent rebounding team, but they give up offensive rebounds at the eighth-highest rate in the league. Assuming Embiid can capitalize on those opportunities for some easy put-back baskets, he should be able to surpass this mark tonight.

This line seems shockingly low for a player who has scored 30+ points in four of his past six games. Additionally, Tatum has had six or more rebounds in 16 of his past 18 contests.

Combining both categories tonight against a 76ers team that he's recorded 46 and 47 against between these two stats feels like a great value where oddsmakers are sleeping at the wheel.

Tatum has been shooting a large volume of three-point shots recently, with just under 11 attempts per game in his last seven outings. In both games against the 76ers this season, he's shot over 50% from the perimeter. If that success carries over tonight, he may be able to reach this total on points alone.

Another great thing about this game is that Philadelphia plays the Celtics well. Both games this season were decided by single digits, and with a point spread of 7.5, it is expected to continue tonight. Close games where the stars remain on the court increase the odds of these props going over, and you can count on this being a close contest.

It's a limited sample size, but Jaylen Brown has put up six and seven three-point attempts in his games against Philadelphia this season. With those attempts, he made two or more of them to go over this mark.

Brown had been banged up going into the All-Star Break but is cleared from the injury report tonight and should get back to his usual shooting volume to kick off the back half of the season.

The 76ers allow the eighth-highest three-point rate to their opponents, and against a Celtics team that shoots more threes than anyone else in the league, that should mean shots are flying from downtown.

While Boston has plenty of players capable of contributing from three, Brown's high-volume shot diet and second-highest usage rate on the team should lead to him getting some great looks from outside and cashing on this line.
