Clemson loses big time contributor to the transfer portal

Clemson baseball received surprising news on Friday when infielder Nolan Nawrocki entered the transfer portal.

The redshirt sophomore played in 36 games this season, starting 34, and posted a .264 average with four home runs, 24 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases. He split time between third base and designated hitter.

During the NCAA tournament, Nawrocki went 1-for-7 with one RBI and two walks and was involved in a shoving match with Florida's Jac Caglianone in the Clemson Super Regional. Nawrocki, a New York native, joined the portal just before the July 2 deadline, following teammates Billy Barlow, Nathan Hall, and Cooper Blauser.

Clemson has added transfer outfielder Dominic Listi (Indiana State), infielder Collin Priest (Michigan), and catcher-first baseman Luke Gaffney (Purdue). The Tigers, who went 44-16, aim to continue their postseason success in Erik Bakich's third season as head coach.
