Man's body found by car along freeway may be a road rage killing, Utah cops say

A man's body was found outside a car along a roadway after a possible road rage incident, a Utah sheriff's office said.

Authorities want the people involved to turn themselves in, the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office said in a news release posted to Facebook.

The county dispatch center received a report of the man's body near the Ross Creek Trailhead north of the Jordanelle Reservoir about 11 a.m. Sept. 26, the sheriff's office said in the release.

When they arrived, deputies found the man's body outside the car on the shoulder of the freeway, the sheriff's office said.

An early investigation indicates the possible road rage incident occurred just before he died at about 11 p.m. the night before, the sheriff's office said.

Now investigators are looking for the other car involved. They believe it may be a Jeep Gladiator or a Jeep Rubicon, possibly with damage to the car's front end.

"We call upon the individuals in the second vehicle to turn themselves in," the sheriff's office said. "The sooner you turn yourselves in to deal with the situation the better."

The sheriff's office is withholding the man's name until it can notify his next of kin. There is no indication of danger near the trailhead where his body was found.

Investigators ask anyone with information to call the sheriff's office at 435-654-1411.

Wasatch County is about a 100-mile drive southeast from Salt Lake City.
