Crosstown Shootout ESPN+ stream cuts out; former Xavier coach Chris Mack among reactions

The Enquirer's Shelby Dermer and Scott Springer preview Saturday's Crosstown Shootout at Fifth Third Arena.

The stream of Saturday's Crosstown Shootout between the Cincinnati Bearcats and Xavier Musketeers cut out several times throughout the broadcast, and Charleston Cougars head coach Chris Mack, XU's all-time leader in coaching wins, was among those noticing and reacting on social media.

Many also reacted to play-by-play announcer John Schriffen referring several times to Hall of Famer and former UC great Oscar Robertson as "Oscar Robinson."

CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein tweeted before the game that it was "absolutely ridiculous" and "a disservice to college basketball" to broadcast the Crosstown Shootout on ESPN+.
