Three arrested after East Baton Rouge deputies seize drugs, guns, cash

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- An investigation into overdoses led to the arrest of three people and the seizure of drugs, guns and money by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office.

EBRSO said their "Gang Intelligence and Enforcement Unit investigated numerous street level poly-drug distributors in June."

As a result of that investigation, six search warrants were executed by EBRSO on Wednesday, June 26 and Thursday, June 27. The search warrants were "part of three independent investigations," EBRSO said.

Three people were arrested and various drugs, multiple guns and over $8,000 were seized as a result of these searches by EBRSO.

Cora Gray, 39 was charged with three counts of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drug (powder fentanyl), one count of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drug (crystal methamphetamine), one count of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I drug (marijuana), two counts of firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a stolen firearm, operation of a clandestine lab and drug paraphernalia.

Larry Taylor, 53 was charged with one count of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drug (powder fentanyl).

Ronald Wyble, 34, was charged with two counts of distribution of Schedule II drug (powder fentanyl and methamphetamine), two counts of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drug (powder fentanyl), one count of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drug (powder/pressed fentanyl), one count of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drug (crystal methamphetamine), one count of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I drug (marijuana), one count of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule III drug (Suboxone), two counts of firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, two counts of a felon in possession of a firearm and drug paraphernalia.

EBRSO said they seized 30.2 grams powder fentanyl, 16 dosage units of pressed fentanyl, 153.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 1.46 pounds of powder cocaine, 1.83 ounces of crack cocaine, 161 dosage units of Oxycodone, 12 ounces marijuana, 4.2 grams synthetic THC, a blender with positive fentanyl residue, ballistic body armor, four narcotics smoking pipes and nine digital scales.

According to EBRSO, they also seized $8,007 and multiple guns, including two that were stolen from BRPD.

Those stolen guns were a Baretta semi auto 40 caliber handgun and SLR AR-15 rifle. They also located a dead air suppressor, which was reportedly stolen from BRPD.

EBRSO said that a seized Sig Saur P250 .40 caliber handgun was reported stolen from Ascension Parish.

The rest of the guns that were seized included a Walther, semi auto 22 caliber handgun, Smith & Wesson 40 caliber semi auto handgun, Hi Point 9mm rifle, DPMS AR-10 .308 rifle, Glock 43 9mm handgun, Taurus .38 caliber revolver, Taurus 357 revolver, ATA Arms 12-gauge shotgun, S&W .32 caliber revolver and Kel Tech PF9 9mm handgun.
